Ghost Marks is inspired by the ancient gum trees that inhabit both the Australian landscape and the pages of my novel. Over centuries, these trees become living archives, their trunks carrying the traces of weather, fire, growth, loss and human presence.
 
Through layered marks, veils of colour and luminous passages of light, this work explores the stories held within the skin of a tree—the histories we can see and those that remain hidden beneath the surface. It is a meditation on memory, endurance and the quiet wisdom that accumulates over time.
 
Like the landscape itself, the tree becomes both witness and storyteller.
